Provincial Nomination Program for CANADA

In Canada, States are called Provinces. Anyone being selected under a PNP program, whether with express entry or independently, will have to stay for a period of at least 2 year in that very state on attaining PR. Only after completing this term, can he/she freely move to any other part of the country. If a candidate has made an online express entry profile, they must show their interest for a specific province for them to be seen and selected by that province, if their skill level is in demand in that province. Upon getting shortlisted, they will have 30 days time frame to either accept the invitation by state for further processing or may cancel nomination as per choice. Once the nomination is accepted by the candidate, he/she will be required to pay the required fee of the province along with set of documents for the embassy to assess their profile. Normally the processing takes 60-90 days for the province to grant you the nomination certificate. Once the nomination is issued and clubbed with EE profile, the candidate becomes eligible to get additional 600 pts, making them high rankers in the pool. Thereafter they get shortlisted by the federal draw that takes place.

The following are the various provincial nomination programs that one can apply for;

·       Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP): clubbed with Express entry – In order to get shortlisted, the candidate must make 67 points on the initial FSW point grid and thereafter should attain a minimum of 400 CRS score out of initial 600 points in order to be eligible to apply for Ontario province. A fee of CAD $1500 will be applicable, payable to Ontario province. Once the state provides nomination, it will grant additional 600 pts to the profile. Ontario PNP nominates a high number of applicants as compared to other states in a single draw and runs throughout the year as per its requirements and demands.

There is a concise demand list and his profession must fall under the demand occupation list of Saskatchewan. If a candidate falls under the regulated profession list, a certificate of qualification will be must to obtain before he can apply to the province, else he cannot be invited. Non regulated professions do not have such implications. The general intake is for 500 applications at a time and runs throughout the year with specific time intervals.

·       Alberta Provincial Nomination program: The AINP is a partnership between Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Government of Alberta that seeks out skilled and semi-skilled foreign nationals who can immediately enter the Albertan workforce and therefore benefit the economy as soon as possible. Prospective immigrants can apply to the Alberta PNP 2018 in two different ways. An Expression of Interest (EOI) can be sent directly to Immigration Alberta without going through the Canadian Express Entry system. If nominated through this route, an applicant can then apply for Canada Permanent Residency through Express Entry by uploading their provincial nomination credentials into the platform. The other option for people interested in immigrating to Alberta is to begin the process by creating a new Express Entry profile. Once this is done, the individual can then show an interest in the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program directly through the system. If an Alberta nomination is then received, the prospective immigrant will consequently gain 600 points on his or her Express Entry score, significantly increasing their chances of being given an Invitation to Apply during the next Express Entry draw.
